The Manresa 2022 Project is a strategic, cross-cutting and participatory commitment of the city, with the aim of celebrating 500 years since the arrival of Saint Ignatius of Loyola in Manresa, on the way on his pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Ignacio spent almost a year in the city of Manresa, was inspired to write the Spiritual Exercises and had a revealing experience that marked his life and led him to found the Society of Jesus. For this reason, Manresa is at the origin of the Jesuit order. So much so that many Jesuit centers around the world have the name of Manresa.
We want to take advantage of the opportunity that this world-famous historical commemoration offers us and, following the example of the pilgrim who transformed the vision of the Church and the world, to renew the image that we have of our city and the image that we offer to the world.
