\u00ab In this Ignatian Year we recover our status as pilgrims. To experientially underline this dimension of the pilgrim Saint Ignatius, we have arranged for a JUBILEE YEAR OF COMMEMORATION to be celebrated in 2022 along the Ignatian Way, understood as a continued experience of the Spiritual Exercises, which will take place from January 1 to December 31 of the year 2022. \u00bb<\/em> (Pastoral Letter of the Bishops of the Ignatian Way, July 31, 2021.)<\/p>\n

On January 2, in the Sanctuary of La Cova de Sant Ignasi, Manresa, the acts began in honor of the first pilgrim of the Ignatian Way: \u00cd\u00f1igo de Loyola. A vocal concert by the Quinta Esencia quartet opened this jubilee year.<\/p>\n

The mayor of Manresa, Mr. Marc Aloy, highlighted in the presentation of the acts that \u201cThe commemoration of the 500 years of Ignacio’s stay in Manresa helps us to vindicate his spirit, his strength, his desire for transformation. The objective is to transform ourselves individually, each one of us, and also collectively, as a city, as a society. To create together a better place for the people we live in and an attractive place for visitors, tourists and pilgrims. (\u2026) I wish that we enjoy this year of commemoration. Let us be impregnated with the spirit of transformation to project ourselves towards a better future\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n
